1. Acer Aspire 5 Gaming Laptop

High-Performance Laptop

Acer Aspire 5 Gaming Laptop

Key Features

  • Laptop Name: Acer Aspire 5
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 3 3200U
  • RAM: 8GB RAM
  • Graphics Card: AMD Radeon Vega 3
  • Storage: 128GB SSD + 500GB HDD
  • Battery Life: 6 hours

With a decent processor and long battery life, Acer Aspire 5 has made quite a statement among affordable laptops. Along with the capabilities to get you through day-to-day tasks, this laptop is promising when it comes to gaming as well.

Performance

Acer Aspire features AMD Ryzen 3 3200U processor, which is considered quite robust for affordable machines. For daily computing chores like web surfing, media playbacks, spreadsheet calculations, and much more, the Acer Aspire 5 gives a top-notch performance. Moreover, you can also get away with light to medium demanding games as the processor is paired with 8GB RAM.

The Acer Aspire 5 comes with an entry-level Graphics Processor AMD Radeon Vega 3. I don’t assure you out-of-the-world gaming performance with this graphics support. However, you can get away with games on the lowest settings. Besides, what else do you expect under $500?

Portability

With 14.31 x 9.74 x 0.89 inches dimensions, Acer Aspire 5 is a large laptop. But, surprisingly, it is not chunky or heavy (3.9 pounds) to carry around in your bag or on commute. I would recommend being a little careful while using this laptop on a busy train or bus, as you might struggle to whip out.

Talking about portability, battery life plays an essential role in that department. Acer Aspire 5 has enough battery juice to last up to 6 to 7 hours on medium day-to-day tasks. You can get a few more hours when put on a battery saver. However, the battery dropped a little faster while gaming, i.e., 4 hours of battery life, which is again pretty decent.

Display

The display of the Acer Aspire 5 is not its strongest territory, to be honest. Even though it comes with Full HD (1080 x 1920p) IPS display, still, the colors seem pretty washed out, and the contrast isn’t strong either. That means you’ll get an average performance out of the screen even while watching movies and photos.

Other Considerations

Acer Aspire 5 holds just enough ports. It comes with one USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports, one USB-C port, and Ethernet and SD card slot. These ports are sufficient to keep your laptop connected with other peripherals. However, we would have liked another USB 3.0 port, just saying.

Pros

  • Good battery life
  • Decent performance
  • Sturdy build quality

Cons

  • Screen contrast and colors are not vibrant
  • Not enough for demanding games

Bottom Line

If a long battery life, a large variety of ports, and a good processor is something that fancies you, the Acer Aspire 5 is your guy! It can be your work buddy as well as gaming partner, that too under a reasonable price tag.

2. Lenovo IdeaPad 330 Gaming Laptop

Best value for money laptop

Lenovo IdeaPad 330 Gaming Laptop

Key Features

  • Laptop Name: Lenovo IdeaPad 330
  • Processor: AMD A9-9425
  • RAM: 8GB DDR4 Memory
  • Graphics Card: AMD Radeon R5 Graphic
  • Storage: 256GB SSD
  • Battery Life: 4.5 hours

Paired with a powerful processor and 8GB RAM, Lenovo IdeaPad 330 is undoubtedly one of the best affordable gaming machines. A variety of ports and the attractive design gives this laptop a little more oomph than it deserves.

Performance

If you are an entry-level gamer and yet not willing to spend on a heavier machine, the Lenovo IdeaPad 330 is just right for you in that case. It features an AMD A9-9425 processor along with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics, which means you can easily enjoy some mediumly excessive games smoothly. Moreover, the 8GB RAM is cherry on top for multitasking.

Portability

Lenovo IdeaPad 330 is neither on a heavier side nor on the ultra-slim lightweight side. It weighs 4.8 pounds with the dimensions of 14.89 x 10.24 x 0.98 inches, which makes it easier to carry in the backpack or just in hands without any straining.

Want a laptop as your traveling buddy? Steer clear from this. The Lenovo IdeaPad 330 latest only for 4.5 hours, that too on video playback. And, if you are planning to use it while gaming, it will probably demand more battery. Still, if you are someone who always has a power outlet just handy anywhere, it’s not a bad deal for the price.

Display

I can’t complain much about having a lower resolution for such a budget laptop. It comes with a 15.6″ Anti Glare Screen with a maximum resolution of 1366 x 768p. The screen turned grainier, especially while watching darker scenes. The dull and washed out colors can be a little annoying and eventually become a deal-breaker for some people.

Other Considerations

Lenovo IdeaPad 330 comes with just the right selection of ports, nothing less nothing more. It features all the ports on the left side that includes AC DC power jack, 2 USB 3.0 Gen 1 ports, an RJ-45 port, an audio jack, and a digital media reader. While on the right side, a DVD-RW is located, which is so rare to find on laptops these days.

Pros

  • Excellent performance for entry-level gaming
  • Solid build and construction
  • Very affordable

Cons

  • Dull display
  • Below-average battery life

Bottom Line

Lenovo IdeaPad 330 has enough to offer, such as decent performance, sturdy, attractive chassis, and a large 15.6 display to make you buy it just after a few glances. However, it has some shortcomings as well, that might not be good news for some.

3. Dell Inspiron 15 5575 Gaming Laptop

Optimum performance under $500

Dell Inspiron 15 5575 Gaming Laptop

Key Features

  • Laptop Name: Dell Inspiron 15 5575
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2500U
  • RAM: 8GB Memory
  • Graphics Card: Radeon Vega8 Graphics
  • Storage: 1TB Hard Drive
  • Battery Life: 4 hours

Dell Inspiron 15 5575 is a performance pack that doesn’t come with an account breaking price tag. Smooth graphics and a Full HD Display speaks for itself about why it should be in your cart right now.

Performance

When it comes to performance, the AMD Ryzen 5 2500U in this laptop serves better than the Intel competitors, which I obviously liked. This means that you won’t experience any unnecessary lag while gaming. And, 8GB RAM plays an important role too, if you are into multitasking.

Moreover, the Radeon Vega 8 Graphics also wins the game over Intel Integrated Graphics. It was buttery smooth gameplay with Tomb Raider on this laptop. I also tried to push this laptop to its limits with GTA V, and surprisingly I managed it on low-resolution settings.

Portability

In the generation where technology is getting slimmer and compact, the Dell Inspiron 15 5575 takes the opposite route. With 10.15 x 14.96 x 0.78 inches dimensions, this laptop is quite thick even after opening the lid. The thickness also reflects in the weight, i.e., 4.8 pounds, but still, it is bearable.

The Dell Inspiron 15 5575 lasted for 4 hours on a single charge, that too on light to medium usage that includes video streaming and some web browsing, which is not impressive at all, as the games demand even more battery. However, I suggest to always enjoy games while keeping it plugged in for better performance.

Display

We always love some Full HD displays. And, Dell Inspiron 15 5575 is just right in that case as it features a big 15.6 inches FHD (1920 x 1080p) display. Moreover, the LED display is anti-glare, which means reflections aren’t an issue here. The brightness, to be honest, is sufficient enough to allow you to work outdoors without any trouble.

Other Considerations

The Dell Inspiron 15 5575 holds plenty of ports, but I still have a little disappointment. It has 2 USB 3.0 ports, 1 USB 2.0 port, an SD card slot, audio jack, Ethernet, HDMI, and a DVD writer. However, I still wish there was a USB Type C port for better connectivity.

Also, if you are willing to buy this laptop, there is one thing that you should know about this laptop that has some heat issues. After an hour of streaming videos on Google Chrome, the bottom surface of the laptop started getting warm. Thankfully, the keyboard and other areas still remained normal.

Pros

  • FHD Display
  • Robust Integrated GPU
  • Excellent performance for the price

Cons

  • Short battery life
  • Runs warm

Bottom Line

This laptop has enough good reasons to buy it, such as a competent integrated GPU, a good display, and 8GB RAM for multitasking. But that’s it! You can’t expect much more from this laptop, and it is even unfair to ask more at this price.

4. HP 15.6 Gaming Laptop

Perfect for connectivity

HP 15.6 Gaming Laptop

Key Features

  • Laptop Name: HP 15.6”
  • Processor: Intel Core i3-1005G1
  • RAM: 8GB DDR4 RAM
  • Graphics Card: Intel UHD Graphics
  • Storage: 128GB SSD
  • Battery Life: 5 hours

A right mix of good-looking design and performance features, the HP 15.6″ is a mid-range laptop perfect for daily and gaming needs. And, the long battery life just adds on more to the value of this laptop.

Performance

The HP 15.6″ comes with the latest 10th Generation Core i3 processor along with 8GB RAM for handling the basic computing tasks and as well as some video editing smoothly. Moreover, you get Intel UHD graphics to enjoy some light games as well as some heavy games on lowered settings. In a nutshell, it has the perfect performance to price ratio.

Portability

The HP 15.6″ is the perfect laptop to snug fit in your backpack. It features 14.11 x 9.53 x 0.71 inches dimensions, which means it is comparatively thinner than the other laptops in the same range. Moreover, it is lightweight as well, weighing only 4.4 pounds, making it transportable.

The battery life of HP 15.6″ is pretty good, as it lasts for a good 5 hours. And, I am sure when used on battery saver mode, you can get some more use out of it.

Display

Display of HP 15.6″ laptop is a disappointment (but you have to compromise somewhere, though). The display features a mediocre resolution of 1366 x 768p, which means less sharpness. Moreover, the viewing angles are not wide as well because the display is supported by TN technology (not the IPS).

Other Considerations

Talking about the connectivity of this laptop, it holds just the right amount of ports (nothing less nothing more). It comes with 2 USB 3.1 Type-A ports, 1 USB Type-C port (which I absolutely love!), 1 HDMI port, and a media card reader.

Pros

  • Latest 10th generation processor
  • Good ports selection
  • Good battery life

Cons

  • Low resolution

Bottom Line

With the latest processor, long-lasting battery life, and a number of ports, the HP 15.6″ is one of the worthy choices as a gaming laptop. But, don’t forget you’ll be getting a middling screen resolution, so not a good idea if you are into streaming HD videos.

5. Asus VivoBook F510UA Gaming Laptop

Best for multitasking

Asus VivoBook F510UA Gaming Laptop

Key Features

  • Laptop Name: Asus VivoBook F510
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-7200U
  • RAM: 8GB DDR4 RAM
  • Graphics Card: Intel HD Graphics 620
  • Storage: 1TB HDD
  • Battery Life: 5 hours

Finding a 15-inch laptop in the “best gaming laptops under $500” category is definitely rare. But, Asus Vivobook doesn’t only have a big screen but also sleek design and 8th generation Intel Core i5 for better performance.

Performance

The Asus VivoBook F510UA runs snappy on Windows tasks and web browsing (even with multiple tabs), and all credits go to the Intel Core i5-7200U processor. However, when the laptop was overly loaded either with a game or multitasking, the cooling fans kicked in. To be honest, fans aren’t loud or annoying at all, but they are definitely noticeable.

Considering that it comes with Intel HD Graphics 620, I didn’t expect much from this laptop graphics wise. However, when tested on low settings, I was able to play Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey and BattleField 5 without any troubles. It is not the best experience, but definitely playable.

Portability

Finding a smart yet lightweight laptop is a struggle when it comes to affordable gaming machines. But, Asus VivoBook F510UA is thinner among many other competitors while not compromising on the sturdiness and rigidness of the chassis. Moreover, it only weighs 3.7 pounds, which is pretty lightweight, even when compared to some high-end laptops.

Gaming laptops often come with a battery trade-off (as far as I have experienced). And, the Asus VivoBook F510UA is one of them, it lasts for 5 hours more or less on a single charge. So, if you are interested in buying this laptop, just make sure that you will need a power outlet every few hours.

Display

The Asus VivoBook F510UA has a full HD 15.6″ display along with a matte anti-glare finish that keeps reflections and unnecessary glares at a bay. However, the viewing angles of the screen aren’t great, which makes it almost impossible to watch a movie with your friend as you’ll end up adjusting the angles all the time. Apart from that, the display is bright and crisp, which is pretty hard to find at such a price.

Other Considerations

I always love a USB Type-A and Type C kind of moment in a laptop. And, Asus VivoBook F510UA accommodates both, just making the connectivity easier without any dongle. On the left side of the chassis, you can find two USB 3.0 ports and an SD card slot. And, on the right side, there is one more USB 3.0 port along with USB Type C, headphone/microphone jack, power connector, and HDMI.

Pros

  • Attractive design
  • Smooth performance
  • Full HD display
  • Low price

Cons

  • No in-box SSD
  • Lacks wide viewing angles

Bottom Line

If I had to put it straight, I would term this laptop as the perfect replacement for a desktop. It has a powerful 8th generation Intel Core i5 processor along with a wide variety of ports and beautiful display. But, the only thing that could have been better was the battery life.

6. Dell Inspiron 15 5000 Gaming Laptop

Best for Witcher 3 and Fortnite

Dell Inspiron 15 5000 Gaming Laptop

Key Features

  • Laptop Name: Dell Inspiron 15 5000
  • Processor: Intel Core i3-8130U
  • RAM: 8GB DDR4 RAM
  • Graphics Card: Intel UHD Graphics 620
  • Storage: 128GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD
  • Battery Life: 3.5 hours

Looking for an all-rounder that serves your gaming needs too? Dell Inspiron 15 5000 is just right with 15.6 inches FHD screen, decent performance, and attractive design. But, do make sure to stick around a power outlet throughout the day.

Performance

With the Intel Core i3 processor and 8 GB RAM, Dell Inspiron 15 5000 is made for multitasking. When tested with 20 Google chrome tabs while playing a 1080p video on Youtube, the laptop worked fine. However, when I tried to open some more tabs, it started showing some lag.

This laptop uses Intel UHD 620 graphics, that is not great but not bad either. You can easily play some windows games as well as some less demanding games. On a lower resolution, I was even able to play Witcher 3.

Portability

You are in the wrong place if you are looking for a lightweight and ultra-slim option. Dell Inspiron 15 5000 has to be heavier (6.59 pounds) than all the other ones on our “Best gaming laptops under $500” list. Though it gives a pretty smart out-look from the outside, it still is tougher on the arms and back when carried.

I tested the battery both with the gaming as well as on youtube loopback, and the results weren’t that good. It lasted only 3 hours 20 mins with the youtube streaming. While playing Asphalt 8, I couldn’t even get a solid 2 hours.

Display

Brighter colors and a good resolution makes a statement for gaming as well as streaming, and it is one of the toughest features to hunt for when it comes to budget laptops. But, Dell Inspiron 15 5000 comes with a 15.6 inches Full HD LED display to give your watch a little oomph. Moreover, the display is touch-enabled (touch screen), which is a rare find for a laptop under $500.

Other Considerations

The Dell Inspiron 15 5000 has a decent port variety; however, in my opinion, I think one or more extra ports would have completed the pack. It holds 2 USB 3.1 ports, 1 USB 2.0 port, an audio jack, a multiformat card reader, RJ45 connector, and a DVD-RW. Especially for gaming, a USB Type C would have been a cherry on top.

Pros

  • Smart design
  • Full HD touch screen display
  • Decent Performance

Cons

  • Average battery life
  • No Type C port

Bottom Line

Dell Inspiron 15 5000 is a solid machine with Intel Core i3 performance. If you aren’t bothered by brief battery life and no Type C port, you should definitely consider this laptop for your budget gaming.

7. Asus VivoBook S15 Gaming Laptop

The best portable gaming laptop

Asus VivoBook S15 Gaming Laptop

Key Features

  • Laptop Name: Asus VivoBook S15
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-10210U
  • RAM: 8GB DDR4 RAM
  • Graphics Card: Intel UHD Graphics
  • Storage: 512GB PCIe SSD
  • Battery Life: 8 hours

The Asus VivoBook S15 has everything that you are looking for but on a budget. A wide 15.6 inches screen, excellent performance, and long-lasting battery life let alone speak for the worthiness of this laptop.

Performance

The Asus VivoBook S15 is a performance beast in a compact size. Underneath the beautiful chassis, it holds a robust Intel Core i5 paired with 8GB RAM. These specifications make it worthy of playing some entry-level games along with some heavier games on lowered settings. Moreover, it also features Intel UHD Graphics to give your games a little oomph and better experience.

Portability

Even Though the Asus Vivobook S15 has a sturdy built, it is still a lightweight laptop weighing only 3.97 pounds. The dimensions aren’t that bad, too, i.e., 14.1 x 9.2 x 0.6 inches. This lighter weight and portable size make it compact enough to slip in the bag for longer trips or daily commutes.

It is safe to say that with the Asus VivoBook S15, you can stay away from the power outlet pretty much the whole day. The battery of this laptop lasted for 8 hours on video playback. And, while on the power saver mode, it can easily last up to 15 hours.

Display

If you are into thin bezels around the display, Asus Vivobook S15 won’t disappoint you. It has very thin bezels (88% screen-to-body ratio) that make it look easier on the eyes in comparison to laptops with thick borders around the screen. Moreover, it has a wide 15.6 Full HD screen. The screen has enough room to make multitasking easier.

Other Considerations

The Asus VivoBook S15 comes with a healthy port selection. On the right side, this laptop accommodates 2 USB 2.0 ports and an SD card reader. And on the left side, there is a USB 3.0 port along with a Type C port and an HDMI. It would have added a little more interest if there was a thunderbolt. However, you can’t complain much at such a price.

Pros

  • Attractive design
  • Long battery life
  • Good ports selection

Cons

  • Average graphics

Bottom Line

With only little to criticize and a lot to brag, the Asus Vivobook S15 is a great laptop that, too, at a reasonable price. Excellent build quality, portability, and smooth gaming performance are just a few of many noteworthy features of this laptop.

8. Dell Inspiron 15.6 Gaming Laptop

The best touchscreen laptop

Dell Inspiron 15.6 Gaming Laptop

Key Features

  • Laptop Name: Dell I3567
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-7200U
  • RAM: 8GB Ram
  • Graphics Card: Integrated Intel HD Graphics 620
  • Storage: 256GB SSD
  • Battery Life: 9 hours

Despite being heavier, the Dell Inspiron 15.6″ has enough to offer that it overshadows all the flaws. Featuring Core i5 processor and 9-hour battery life, this laptop will fulfill your work, personal, or entertainment needs without budging.

Performance

They say it’s a myth to find a good processor under $500, but that’s a myth itself. With Intel Core i5, the Dell Inspiron 15.6″ promises a decent performance for daily usage as well as for mid-day gaming breaks. Besides, the 8GB RAM is a cherry on top of your work involves multitasking.

The on-processor Intel integrated graphics allow you to play games at limited frame rates. However, you get an option to change the graphics card, if that fancies you.

Portability

The Dell Inspiron 15.6″ is a little heavy and chunky. This professional-looking laptop weighs around 4.8 pounds, which is the average weight for most of the laptops in the same category. Moreover, the laptop is not even close to today’s ultra-slim technologies as it is 3″ thick (very chunky, undoubtedly!).

Dell Inspiron 15.6″ has a campus friendly battery life, which means you can carry this laptop pretty much whole day without worrying about recharging. It lasts 9 hours with light to medium usage. And, while gaming, the battery dropped quickly, i.e., lasted 4 hours.

Display

Dell Inspiron 15.6″ features a wide 15.6″ inches display with the 1366 x 768 HD resolution. The resolution isn’t great; however, it is nothing too bad. Watching movies and playing games is bearable. Besides, the touch screen display is very responsive, which you can’t get anywhere else at this price.

Other Considerations

Say goodbye to the port adaptors and dongles with this laptop. The Dell Inspiron 15.6″ has 2 USB 3.0 ports, 1 USB 2.0 port, an HDMI port, an audio jack, LAN slot, and a multiformat card reader. Moreover, you also get a fine quality HD webcam to get you covered with live streaming or just video conferences.

Pros

  • Touch Screen Display
  • Decent battery life
  • Good performance

Cons

  • Low resolution

Bottom Line

The Dell Inspiron 15.6″ is the perfect laptop for taking it to school or work and casual gaming. However, you do have to compromise on lower screen resolution. But the robust processor, battery life, and selection of ports make up for everything.

9. HP 15.6” 15-DA0002DX Gaming Laptop

The best battery life

HP 15.6” 15-DA0002DX Gaming Laptop

Key Features

  • Laptop Name: HP 15-DA0002DX
  • Processor: Intel Quad-Core i5-8250U
  • RAM: 8GB DDR4 RAM
  • Graphics Card: Intel HD Graphics 620
  • Storage: 128GB SSD
  • Battery Life: 10 hours

Want a laptop that fits both gaming and work needs? The HP 15.6″ 15-DA0002DX is the one, that too under budget. It has some strong features such as a fast processor, a bigger battery lifespan, and a touch screen display that make this laptop more interesting.

Performance

The performance specifications of HP 15.6″ 15-DA0002DX are just right for gaming as well as day-to-day tasks. It comes with an Intel Quad-Core i5-8250U that could be clocked up to 3.4 GHz. Also, you get 8GB RAM for multitasking or just opening several tabs on the browser.

When it comes to graphics, this laptop holds Intel HD graphics 620. My opinion about this graphics card is great for an entry-level budget laptop. You can play Asphalt 8, Tomb Raider, CS: GO, and more similar games like these with such graphics.

Portability

The first sight of this laptop will remind you of older bulky laptops. But, when carried in an arm or bag, it is not that heavy as it just weighs 3.9 pounds (lighter than many other competitors). With the measurements of 17.5 x 12 x 2.8 inches, this laptop is huge, as well as thick.

The battery of HP 15.6″ 15-DA0002DX is the top feature of this laptop. With a continuous Youtube video playing on the back at 1080p and some other web surfing, this laptop lasts 10-11 hours. Obviously, these figures will lower down while gaming as games are battery demanding, but still, it is not a bad deal at all.

Display

With 15.6″ inches HD screen (1366 x 768p resolution) is so-so, to be honest. The colors are a little dull and washed off, but apart from that, it is not that bad. And, not to forget, you are also getting a touch screen display, which is not common in the under $500 price range.

Other Considerations

To keep you fast and fluid, there are plenty of connectivity options with this laptop. The port variety includes USB 3.0, LAN, HDMI, SD card reader, Audio jack, and a DVD drive. So, whether you want to watch your favorite movie on the DVD drive or transfer the data quickly, it has a port for everything.

Pros

  • Touch Screen Display
  • Snappy processor
  • Up to 10 hours of battery life

Cons

  • Low resolution

Bottom Line

If you are ready to compromise on the resolution, the HP 15.6″ is a good gaming laptop. Good processor to give you better gaming experience and long battery life for portability make every penny spent on it worthwhile.

10. Acer Aspire E 15 Gaming Laptop

The Performance Beast

Acer Aspire E 15 Gaming Laptop

Key Features

  • Laptop Name: Acer Aspire E15
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-8250U
  • RAM: 8GB RAM Memory
  • Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce MX150
  • Storage: 256GB SSD
  • Battery Life: 15 hours

If you don’t mind a bulky laptop, the Acer Aspire E 15 will definitely serve you the best. It has a robust processor, hours long battery life, and a long list of ports. To be honest, it is a beast under a thick chassis.

Performance

The Intel Core i5-8250 processor and 8GB RAM speaks for itself why Acer Aspire E 15 has the best performance-to-price ratio. The laptop was capable of holding 15 tabs running, that too, with the video streaming on Youtube at 1080p. When compared with other laptops, this laptop showed a faster response to Adobe Photoshop than other competitors.

Gladly, Acer upgraded this laptop from Intel UHD Graphics to NVIDIA Geforce MX150 quite recently. Which, not to kid you, is a huge update and good news for gamers as it allows many games to be played that Intel one didn’t. When I say this laptop is a beast performance, I mean it because I played Fortnite and Call of Duty on this laptop without any lag.

Portability

The Acer E 15 isn’t a “love at first sight” kind of a laptop. It is unpleasant on the eyes mainly because it gives bulkier vibes, obviously because it is thick and heavier. Just to put it on the table, the dimensions of this laptop are 15.02 x 10.2 x 1.19 inches, and it weighs 5.27 lbs. So, if you are into sleek ultra-slim designs, steer clear from this.

The battery makes up for all the damage done by the appearance of this laptop. Acer Aspire E 15 has a solid battery that lasts for over 8 hours (extensive usage), which is not quite usual with budget laptops. If your usage ranges from light-to-medium, I am sure you’ll get away with this laptop throughout the day without charging again.

Display

The Acer Aspire E 15’s display is a 15.6″ Full HD, which means you’ll get finer details and sharper images. However, don’t get too excited as the colors of the display are dull, and that can be a little annoying at times, such as when watching animated movies. Moreover, you get 227 nits of brightness, which is market competitive.

Other Considerations

If the selection of ports is a deal-breaker for you, the Acer Aspire E 15 is definitely your guy. This laptop contains plenty of ports that includes two USB 3.0 ports, a USB 3.1 port, an HDMI port, an Ethernet port, Kensington lock, and one USB Type C port. At the same time, the right side holds a USB 2.0 port, a power jack, an audio jack, and a DVD-RW double-layer drive that we haven’t seen in a very long time. Also, there is an SD card reader placed on the front side on the laptop.

Pros

  • Snappy performance
  • Long battery life
  • Wide range of ports

Cons

  • A little bulkier

Bottom Line

Ready to compromise on design but not performance? You will never go wrong with Acer Aspire E 15 when you are on a budget. It has got everything an entry-level gamer is looking for, such as solid performance, long battery juice, and ports to connect peripherals.

Conclusion

The laptops listed above are the best value to money laptops you can get under $500, each one of them has its own compelling feature. Therefore, I suggest going through each one of them before making up your mind. In case, if I have missed out any of your favorite budget gaming laptops, do let me know in the comments section below.
